New Year!

I have been busy since January 1 with quilting and cleaning. It's always like this at the beginning of the year. Cleaning closets and drawers feels so gratifying. I've been quilting up a storm too. I'm nearly done with the top for Red Velvet using French General fabrics. I took a little break from it yesterday to put this little quilt together for a friend's new baby. It's a Stacked Coins Quilt. I got the pattern from the Moda Bake Shop. The fabric was from a quilt I attempted to make about 4 years ago. I had a hard time squaring it up, so I began ripping out the seams ages ago, threw it in a bin and haven't looked at it since. I never managed to take out all the seams, so it was easy to cut up and put into a stacked coins quilt...and it was easy to square up. I quilted with wavy lines in one direction. I really like the way it turned out. Hopefully it will warm up a bit by the end of the week so I can get a better picture of it. It's too cold to spend much time outside right now and the snow is still here. Ahh winter.
