Whoohoo

My machine is back. Good old Fred at The Quilt Patch made quick work of the repair once the part came in. I am a happy girl. My husband joked that the departure of my sewing machine was messing with my "chi". He is so far from being a spiritual person, so coming from him, it was really funny...and telling. Well, it's back and all is right with the world. I even managed to squeeze in a few minutes of sewing between the chorus concert, violin lessons, allergy shots, grocery shopping, etc. You get the picture.

My quilt circle exchanged 9 patch blocks this past Christmas. I've been struggling to figure out what to do with them and finally decided on something last week. I added the little star points and I'm really pleased with how the blocks are turning out. I was actually working on them when my machine broke. Here's what I have so far. I just have about 5 more blocks to finish and then I can start putting the top together. I think I'm going to set them on point. I have twenty blocks. I think I'll need to add one more to make things work out when they go on point.
I should be getting the wedding quilt back from the longarmer this week too. I'm going to make a little throw pillow to go with the quilt. Ashley had a great idea, so I think I'll take my scraps and copy her pillow idea. She has a nice tutorial for making the string blocks. I started them last night and think they will go really fast, especially since I only need 4 blocks. Easy. Hoepfully quick too.
One final note, go check out Connie's quilt directory, Quilt Qua. There are tons of great links to while away many hours. Happy Quilting.

  1. Congratulations on getting the machine back. I can't imagine a week without mine!

Your squares look great. Isn't it amazing how different they look on point?
